Alex is a director, writer, producer, editor, actor, lyricist and acting teacher. After graduating from the American Musical & Dramatic Academy, Alex made his professional acting debut starring in the national tour of Neil Simon’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Lost in Yonkers. In 1997 he began work at the acclaimed Barrow Group theatre company, where he met his wife, Hillary Baack, whom he directed in her acclaimed one-woman show, Birth Story.
Driven by a life-long passion for cinema, Alex formed Force Studios to create movies for all audiences, and produced and directed the independent features, Hollywood Musical! and You & Me (Audience Award, 2018 Cinequest Film Festival). Alex is currently developing a slate of new projects, including Helen, Belittled, Portraits of Genie, The Schmilsson Movie, The Little Things and Story of My Life.

Hillary is an actress, writer, director and producer. After graduating from Wake Forest University’s theatre program, Hillary studied and worked at The Barrow Group, where she wrote and performed a sold-out run of her one-woman show, Birth Story. Other roles include The Vagina Monologues, Deaf West’s Flowers for Algernon and a shared Ovation award for their Broadway-bound production of Spring Awakening.
Hillary co-starred in Hollywood Musical!, directed by her husband, Alexander Baack, with whom she also wrote the screenplay for You & Me, which she stars in and which won the Audience Award at the 2018 Cinequest Film Festival.
She also co-starred in Zal Batmanglij’s The East (Fox Searchlight), with Brit Marling, Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgård and appears in Darius Marder’s upcoming Sound of Metal, with Riz Ahmed.
As a director, Hillary is currently developing Helen, a feature based on her script about the life of Helen Keller.
